Let's Celebrate the Holidays!
The holidays are quickly approaching which means it’s time to start planning your company’s annual celebrations. This time of year is not only joyous, but a golden opportunity to network and bond. Here are some tips to help make your festivities a memorable event:
- Create a hint of intrigue for larger events by offering different rooms with varying activities or entertainment. This encourages attendees to find something they can relate to instead of being trapped in a stationary atmosphere.
- The holidays tend to be a time when people reconnect and enjoy significant mingling. Consider allowing extra time for your guests (approximately 30 minutes) to move from the reception to dinner. To assist with the flow, use one main entrance and have a seating chart at the registration desk so guests can flow easily.
- Let’s not forget those families and individuals who continue to be affected by natural disasters. Perhaps you might incorporate a charitable component into the theme to give the event additional meaning. You might even consider staging some "gingerbread banks" around the room to collect donations for relief funds.
- So often we look to outside talent, but why not consider your own “Company Carolers” to add a unique element and holiday spirit to the “walk-in” portion of your event. Just plan to have a couple of rehearsals and then place them center stage in front of a curtain or backdrop.
- Creative treats definitely make the season bright. Consider unique displays such as offering edible gingerbread house centerpieces or as a lunch or dinner bread course, create ‘red and green’ candy cane breadsticks with roasted red-pepper goat cheese and avocado dip. Keep in mind that chocolate fountain too as you can never go wrong offering this simple treat.
- Make lasting memories with unique mementos for attendee departures. Gifts that work well are “lifestyle” products that guests can enjoy at home. Perhaps barware, cooking seasonings or tableware might be a consideration. Be sure to personalize and package it creatively as the time and effort will not go unnoticed.
We hope your Christmas, Hanukkah and New Year are full of special events, health, happiness and cherished memories.
